Lucas Tax + Energy and its founding principal, Randy Lucas, are committed to business solutions that advance the principles of renewable energy and sustainability for the firm’s corporate and design clients.  As a “green” accounting and financial advisory firm, Lucas Tax + Energy is known for its expertise in the field of energy incentives.  Lucas has spoken at numerous financial and energy conferences focused on accounting methods applicable to energy efficient projects, alternative energy applications, historic tax credits, accelerated depreciation and grant funding for energy projects.

The firm has assisted client with solutions for marquis office buildings, manufacturing and distribution facilities, sports complexes, schools and university projects.  Clients include Wells Fargo Company, Sports Palace Ventures, Pristine Sun NC LLC, Shealy Electrical Wholesalers, Johnson C. Smith University, Brightfield Transportation Group, and numerous architectural firms.

Lucas serves on several community and professional organization boards, including the the Board of Directors for the NC Renewable Energy Association (NCSEA) based in Raleigh, the General Circle of the North Carolina Chapter of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) in addition to serving on several alumni advisory boards at his alma mater, Virginia Tech including the Pamplin Advisory Council, the Alumni Advisory Council for the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, and the VT Black Cultural Center and Office of Multicultural Programs and Services.
